Oh my children make me smile. The other day SP was playing, and I left him for a few minutes. Next thing, he is wearing the above ensemble. Too cute I think, and oh so stylish! I wonder what he will be like when a teenager?

Objects of desire

Photos of my beauties, as promised (finally!) . Note to self: must improve digital photography skills, including checking the background. Preferably before taking photos.

It's been a funny old day. Not bad per se, but not that fab either. The kind of day that comes and goes without making much of a mark really. Getting about on one crutch is not that easy and the 'novelty' value sure has worn off now. Getting a 4 1/2 year old, baby buggy and me into a toilet cubicle (even if it is the wheelchair accessible one) is a mission and a half.
Oh, I haven't detailed the clutz that is me on my blog yet have I? 15th June I fell over. In spectacular style. Face first into a muddy puddle, in the pouring rain, whilst running (don't do that often either). I think it would have looked really funny (I even had mud on my glasses!). I have (in the words of my cute physio) 'seriously pissed my knee off'. Am currently awaiting a referral to an orthopaedic surgeon and an MRI scan. In the meantime Im getting about on one crutch trying not to put too much weight onto my right leg. It seriously sucks. I still have my beautiful bed linen though.

Im in LUUUURRRVE...

Ok, I admit I haven't blogged for a while. Ok, a long while. It's not that I have forgotten you, I promise. I have to admit it. I have a new love. It arrived in a large box, about 13 kg. I gently and lovingly took it from the box, caressed it and popped it into the washing machine for a 'freshen up'.
My lovely big C put it on the bed, and I tiptoed in to have a glimpse. I stopped at the bedroom door and drew in breath, what a beautiful sight! I admit, I was rash. I then launched myself at the bed with gay abandon and rolled around giggling in a slightly drunken fashion. My family now know that I am completely mad (if there was ever any question).
I had an early night to try to recover, but of course, there they were, still on the bed, beckoning enticingly. On slipping between the sheets, it became obvious that my nocturnal habits were never going to be the same again. I giggled, snuggled down, and went to a VERY happy place.
Anyone who says that 400 count cotton sheets are a waste of time has obviously never experienced them. Or I could of course be completely shallow, but you know what? I. DON'T. CARE. AT ALL.
I LOVE my new sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases, towels, hand towels, bath mats, flannels, and robe (in case you hadn't noticed). They look perfect in the bathroom and bedroom. The bedroom now looks very grown up. Even big C thinks so. I think the bed now needs some small throw cushions and a mink throw in chocolate for the bottom of the bed. In fact its so blimming cold right now that the throw could be put to very good use.
Photos to come when we get some light in this place. Just imagine a beautiful bedroom, chocolate brown walls, crisp white sheets and cotton waffle duvet cover and pillow cases. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. It's calling my name.......

Yippee! Im a WINNER!!!

To those of you who are right now smirking and thinking all sorts of strange things (like Big C who smiled in a slightly condescending way and said "of course you are honey" or some such thing - good job I love him eh!) let me clarify. I have for a long time entered all sorts of competitions. Not because I win things often, but there is some part of me that really wants to win stuff. All kinds of random stuff which, if I won it, I wouldn't know what to do with. That probably says all sorts of things about my personality, analyse away!

Anyhow, I received a letter today which said that I have WON over $900 worth of linen. From a competition in Your Home and Garden magazine, back in April. I now can't find the magazine, and I will have to institute a more thorough search tomorrow. But there are two duvet sets, sheets, pillowcases, bath robe, bath sheets, bath mats, hand towels and flannels. Very good quality I believe. Hopefully in neutral-ish colours. The lovely lady I spoke to to confirm my prize said she was very envious, and that the sheets are 400 count cotton. I have never had sheets that nice so am really looking forward to getting them! She also said it is in a HUGE box, so apologies in advance to the postie. God bless rural deliveries!

This is supposed to be a craft blog, which has not much craft at all and more of my ramblings and kids than anything else. One of these days I might actually empty out my brain of some of the project ideas I have, and finish some of them! I have all sorts of things on the go....oh to finish!

Almost crawling

My baby, wee m, can now get up onto his hands and knees. He wobbles there for a while, looking very uncertain of himself before flopping down onto his tummy, only to start all over again. The perseverance is quite impressive. He is almost 8 months old and is growing alarmingly quickly. Where have the last 8 months gone?

He has a lovely new 'thing'... when anyone smiles at him, he beams back, wrinkling up his nose and squeezing his eyes shut, and giggling. Too cute!

Lovely Nana

Lovely Nana came to see us a few days ago. We had a great time and were sad when she went home. There was a construction project in SP's room, Nana was a cow for the cowboy to 'round up' and they played in a hut in the lounge. Generally a fab time was had by all.

I am so fortunate to have a great Mum who loves playing with the boys. She is not afraid to get into it, whatever 'it' might be. She is supportive and very special. Thanks Mum, you are a star.

Wonderful weekend

I had the most wonderful weekend. It was a long one (God save the Queen!) and I escaped to the beach, ON MY OWN! No children, no husband, just me. It was so lovely. I can't remember the last time I was on my own completely for any significant period of time. I went to stay at Deb & Graeme's 'caravan' at Waipu Cove. A beautiful beach, a beautiful caravan (larger than a flat we lived in in London for 2 years!). I had a marvellous time and came back feeling like I'd had a week away.

I walked on the beach, slept when I was tired, ate when hungry, read tons, and generally did not much at all. Bliss!

I am so thankful to Big C for being OK with me going away, in fact encouraging me. The boys had a good time without me which was great. Didn't get any crafting done, but have big plans!
