Ahhh, spring has sprung!

We had the most fabulous weather over the weekend, enabling sand pit play as well as swinging madly in the new swing. Yes, big C has made a new swing (at this stage for wee m). He has also completed playhouse extension number 3, as well as planting about 15 trees and building the vegetable garden. Suffice to say he wasn't working in his usual occupation this weekend! He worked very hard though.
Wee m thoroughly enjoyed discovering the blue spade and crawling swiftly around the sand pit and general environs with it in his mouth. And ingesting lots of sand. That has been 'moving through' today. Yuck.
Big C and SP decided yesterday that a hair cut was in order. So they grabbed the clippers and headed outside. Very soon after a grinning SP came inside to show me the results. Hmmm, I'm not at all sure but he likes it. I guess that is the most important thing. He looks so grown up. The funniest bit was when he looked at himself in the mirror and rubbed his hand over his head, saying cooool, sick, mean hair, yeah!! Funny, funny boy.

Little fingers

I have received some very useful equipment to assist me with everyday tasks during the rehab from my knee op. This is a pic of the incredibly dusty bottom shelf of a very useful wooden trolley. I discovered that a certain small person has got there before I did and left his mark! Very visible in the sunshine we have today. I love that he has left his hand print in the dust. I am missing the boys as they are in full time care this week. I hate that I can't look after them at the moment. Next week I am back to being a 'proper' Mummy, with my gorgeous boys at home. And it's school holidays so no work for me. Yippee!

You know it's spring when....

The lambs in the paddock are frolicking and giving their mummies a really hard time - I saw one knock her mummy over this afternoon. Talk about enthusiastic feeding!
AND my magnolia is in flower. It was only planted last year and is already giving me much joy.
AND big C got all the lawns mown over the weekend, which looks lovely and smells even better.

Somewhere over the rainbow...

Skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

I've actually finished something!

Here is a pic of the finished cot bumper. Wee m hasn't managed to pull it off the cot - yet. I used velcro for the fastenings to thwart his attempts. I learned a lot making this. It is my first attempt at quilting and I would do it differently next time! Both the front and back are pieced, I had enough remnants left over to do both sides. I quilted around the animals as well as making a 'seam' top and bottom, as well as through each panel piece. If that makes any sense. Anyway the jolly thing is finished at last!

The other pic is of a piece of embroidery I started and finished over the weekend when I really wasn't moving much. It is a shockingly bad picture, but the angel has seed beeds on the ends of her hair, and french knots on her wings. Now I just need to get her framed. Don't fancy that being done anytime soon, the Noah's ark opne I started before BigC and I got married is still not framed and that was started 12 years ago!
The 'learn to love yourself' written on the piece is pretty apt. I am trying to do that on a daily basis.

Oh woe is me!

Feeling a bit sorry for myself today if truth be known. Had surgery on my 'bung' knee on Friday and it is sore! I think I have probably done too much today and now I am facing the consequences. At least the lovely boys are in day care all week this week (don't ask me about the guilt!) and I have a wonderful woman doing my housework too. So I really don't have anything to complain about at all. In fact I am pretty fortunate all things considered. Can I just have a very small pity party just for me for a short time please? Promise I will be back to 'normal' again tomorrow (well. maybe.)
At least I have got to start AND finish some embroidery! Will photograph it and post a pic tomorrow.
